Kirsty has been a registered psychologist for 14 years, and during this period she has worked in a variety of clinical and research settings. She has experience working with a diverse range of clients, with a particular interest in clients who are experiencing substance abuse issues, low mood, anxiety and difficulties coping with daily stress.
Kirsty has a warm and empathic approach; taking the time to engage with each client and to understand their issues and challenges. She works collaboratively to develop therapy goals, and tailors therapy to meet individual client’s needs. She draws on a range of evidence-based treatments in therapy including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. She equips clients with practical skills, tools and coping strategies to make positive changes in their lives.
